Things got wild at Citi’s Financial Services conference today at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan when Brian Moynihan took the stage.CNBC’s Mary Thompson reported the Bank of America chief executive’s presentation was interrupted by protesters. The audio available on Bank of America’s website after did not feature the interruptions.
The three woman that interrupted Moynihan’s speech were Jodie Evans, Rae Abileah and Medea Benjamin, according to an Occupy Woman press release. The interruption was part of the CODEPINK movement’s actions on behalf of International Women’s Day (You can check out their video of the event below).
Evans was the first that marched up, followed by Abileah and Benjamin. “Taking off their suit jackets and blouses, they stood next to the CEO in their pink bras, with Bust up Bank of America written on their chests,” the press release reads.
Business Insider was able to contact Evans and talk to her about the event.
“I went up first, and they dragged me out. So when [Medea and Rae] got up there was no security,” Evans said said. Medea got to give an 8 minute speech about how bad [Bank of America] was.”
DealBreaker’s source says there were three women who interrupted Moynihan. The first one was wearing a low-cut dress chanting the slogan “Bust up Bank of America before it busts up America.” She was removed by security.
Occupy Woman had a video with audio of their interruption:
