Flights to and from Bali have been cancelled again by a volcanic ash cloud.

Virgin says its team of meteorologists and the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre say conditions are not suitable for flying into and out of Denpasar Airport today.

“We have been advised that Mt Raung continues to erupt and winds are blowing in an unfavourable direction, and are forecast to continue to do so for the rest of the day,” Virgin says.

Jetstar cancelled four flights and delayed two others. Its says the winds in the area remain highly unpredictable and last night volcanic ash was pushed back toward the airport.

The airlines say to check whether flights are running before going to the airport.

Flights have been cancelled and rescheduled many times over the last month, disrupting the holidays of thousands of people, because of an eruption at Mt Raung.
