David McDonald is Head of Research for Business Insider in Sydney.

He was previously the Chief Investment Strategist for Credit Suisse Private Banking in Australia. He has over 30 years’ experience in financial markets. David has worked as an economist, investment strategist, and has extensive experience in equity portfolio management and analysis.

David has worked in asset management in Sydney, London and Melbourne. He started his career as an economist with the federal government in Canberra, working for the Treasury and Department of Trade and Resources.

David holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Graduate Diploma in Economics from the Australian National University. He is a CFA Charter holder and holds the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement designation.

In his spare time David likes to travel with his family and is an avid soccer fan following Sydney FC and Newcastle United in the English Premier League.
