You Have To See This Awkward Video Of An Australian MP Breaking Into Song To Support A Carbon Tax Law

You really do have to watch this interview with Australian minister Craig Emerson from ABC News.

To give some context, Emerson was being asked about the impact of a carbon tax on the South Australian mining town of Whyalla — and in particular a claim from opposition leader Tony Abbott that said the town would be “wiped off the map” if the carbon tax goes through.

Around 1.30 minutes into the video, Emerson (in what is apparently a pre-planned stunt) breaks into song, using the the tune of a 1975 song called Horror Movie by Australian band Skyhooks to make his point that the tax will not wipe out Whyalla.

“No Whyalla wipeout, there on my TV … shocking me right out of my brain”, Emerson sings, while dancing for visual entertainment.
