It was billed as the “fight of the century” and turned out an incredible roster of A-listers with celebrities such as Beyoncé, Mark Wahlberg, Ben Affleck and Denzel Washington at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
Australian billionaire James Packer was among the guests and he had managed to nab one of the best seats in the house, just a few rows back and looking straight on to the middle of the ring, to watch Mayweather win on the judges’ decision after the fight went the full 12 rounds.
Front-row seats were trading for insane amounts of money, reportedly over $350,000. Packer’s main business is in casinos, so maybe he was able to write it off as an exploratory work trip. But still, he clearly had one of the best seats for one of the world’s biggest sporting events this century.
