Australia is an economically diverse nation, as seen in the two tables below from Commsec.

Using averages over the past year, they show the regions with the highest and lowest unemployment rates across the country.

Here’s where unemployment is the highest.

And here’s where it’s the lowest.

Obviously Australia’s current unemployment rate of 5.5% is not reflective of what’s been seen on a regional basis.
