AT&T made it official today that its 4G LTE network is live in 11 new markets, including San Francisco and New York City. Before, we’ve had some success connecting to AT&T’s LTE network in New York, but now it should be working in all boroughs but Staten Island.
Here are the other cities getting LTE from AT&T: Austin, Chapel Hill, Los Angeles, Oakland, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh, San Diego, and San Jose.
For San Francisco, AT&T did note that LTE is only working in “major corridors and downtown areas throughout the Bay Area.” It’ll continue to grow throughout the rest of the Bay Area this year.
AT&T’s LTE network now covers 26 U.S. cities. As a comparison, Verizon’s LTE network is available in almost 200 U.S. cities.
