For the next poll, we decided to test the male sympathy-o-meter by asking which of this year’s most famous misbehaving politicians they thought should have been cut some slack by the media. There was no shortage of candidates to choose from.
Now, let’s see how ruthless the participants were…
Not surprisingly, an overwhelming majority of the international community agreed that “they all got what they deserved.”
Interestingly, respondents in every country except the United States believed the media should have been easier on Arnold Schwarzenegger for cheating on his longtime wife, Maria Shriver, with a member of his household staff.
Americans, on the hand, were most willing to forgive former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner for the sexting scandal that ultimately forced him to resign from congress in June.
DSK and John Edwards, respectively, got the least sympathy votes.
