We were lucky enough to get into the New Yorker’s Arrested Development reunion panel this afternoon.

And before you can ask, we’ll answer the question on everyone’s mind.

Yes, there will be a movie.

But there’s more! Mitchell Hurwitz, the show’s creator, said there will be nine or 10 new TV episodes that set up the movie.

Hurwitz said he’s about 80% finished with the process, which includes clearing up a lot of red tape with the studios. But the cast is on board. The script is almost complete. Shooting could begin as soon as summer 2012.

That’s the news, now check out photos from the event!

The line outside was long 45 minutes before the event. It took us 20 minutes just to get inside.

This cute girl was handing out free ice cream as we waited to get in. Unfortunately, there weren't any frozen bananas

At last! We made it in. The seats filled up fast, so we were stuck in the back

When the lights went down, everyone cheered. We were treated to a highlights reel of classic Arrested Development moments

The crowd went insane as the cast walked out

The cast takes their seats...

This was the first time the Arrested Development cast has been in the same room since the show wrapped in 2006

Introducing everyone. The first man on the left is Mitchell Hurwitz, the show's creator

The rest of the cast including Portia De Rossi, David Cross, Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Tony Hale, and Alia Shawkat

Hurwitz confirmed an Arrested Development movie is coming. Since it's been more than five years, the plan is to air about 10 new episodes on TV leading into the movie

During the audience Q & A session, fans rushed to the microphone. The first guy to ask a question (who we later discovered was GroupMe founder Steve Martocci) said he bought Buster's fake hand from eBay for about $350

After the Q & A, the cast stood up to wave goodbye. But first, a surprise...

Chicken dance! The entire cast recreated their characters' interpretation of a chicken

Bye guys! Now let's see if we can get up close to the cast

We waited outside in the chilly October weather for the cast to show up...

Tony Hale was the first to appear, but he blew by the fans without signing autographs or taking pictures

Jessica Walter was much more receptive to the fans...

Walter signed several autographs and chatted with fans

There's GroupMe's Steve Martocci again! He and a friend brought this banner along. Will Jessica Walter notice?

She did! She even signed the banner!

We waited a bit longer, but the cast was slow to leave. Jeffrey Tambor made a sly escape into that limo you see with the trunk open. It got really chilly, so we decided to go home.
