Retired NBA player Armon Gilliam suffered a heart attack and died yesterday while playing basketball in suburban Pittsburgh. He was 47.From WTAE in Pittsburgh:
Gilliam collapsed from an apparent heart attack while playing basketball at LA Fitness in Collier Township, and was taken to St. Clair Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Gilliam was the second-overall pick behind Spurs centre David Robinson in the 1987 NBA Draft.
He played for six NBA teams in his 13-year career.
