On Sunday, Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy wrote a triumphalist column about how the Patriots are going to kill the Texans this week.
Here’s how it begins:
“The 2012-13 New England Patriots just became the first team in NFL history to get back-to-back byes before advancing to the conference championship game.
“Could this get any easier?
“I mean, seriously? The planets are aligned and the tomato cans are in place. The fraudulent Houston Texans are the only team standing between the New England Patriots and a trip to the AFC Championship game. All the Patriots have to do is beat the terrible Texans. One week from today. At Gillette Stadium.
“Pass Go and collect $200. The Patriots are in the AFC title game.”
This rubbed some people the wrong way, including Houston Texans running back Arian Foster. Today, Foster changed his Twitter avatar to a screenshot of the first three paragraphs of the column.
This is the 2012 edition of bulletin board material. Foster’s one of the better athletes to follow on Twitter, so it’s no surprise he’d come up with this.
Successful trolling by Shaughnessy as well.
Here’s the avatar blown up:
