Apple updated the second-gen Apple TV today, adding iCloud support and streaming from Vimeo.
With the new iCloud feature you can stream any TV show or movie you’ve purchased from iTunes on your computer.
That means you don’t have to worry about using AirPlay to beam movies from your computer to your Apple TV. Everything is tied to your iTunes account now.
You can also purchase videos from your Apple TV. (You could only rent before now.)
John Gruber reports on Daring Fireball that the cloud streaming may be a U.S.-only feature. Gruber also says that not all shows are available for streaming. This could be because Apple is still rolling out the feature.
The new Vimeo feature lets you stream videos from Vimeo, check your videos inbox, and bookmark videos you want to watch later.
We’ll keep our eye out for any more hidden features in the update. Let us know in the comments if we missed anything big.
