Apple Is Going To Allow Developers To Make Apps For Apple TV

Apple will open up its Apple TV to third-party apps at its big developers conference next week, BGR reports.Rumblings of Apple TV apps began a few days ago when Daring Fireball’s John Gruber noticed Apple may be planning sessions for developers.

If the reports are true, we probably won’t see third-party Apple TV apps until this fall, when the next version of iOS is expected to launch. (The Apple TV runs iOS, just like the iPhone and iPad.)
