Apple Protesters Using iPad Event To Spread Their Message

A group protesting Apple’s new subscription rules for publishers is handing out literature to the press waiting to get into today’s iPad event in San Francisco.

The group,, claims that Apple’s new rules will put a lot publishers out of business and harm the free press. Under the rules, any publisher with an iPad or iPhone app who wants to sell subscription content must offer subscriptions within the app, and Apple takes a 30% cut of the proceeds. The rules take effect this summer.

Apparently a “perky anti-Apple protester” handed MSNBC’s Wilson Rothman the following — it looks like a pamphlet with a screenshot of an iPad set to the SaveOurPress Web page, with a banner added across the bottom. protest pamphlet outside apple event
