As it does with every new product of note, iFixIt tore apart Apple’s new 21.5″ iMac to see what’s going on inside.A surprising reveal: etching on the computer reads “Assembled in the USA,” not China as usual.

9to5Mac points out that some Apple boxes have read “Assembled in the USA” in the past, but the assumption was that these devices were simply refurbished in the USA.

This is the first time that the words have appeared etched into the computer itself.

So it begs the question –– where is Apple’s secret American assembly facility?
