The iOS 6 source code hints that we might see Apple’s maps product come to the desktop, reports Technically Personal.A tucked-away XML file reveals that the Shading feature is disabled for certain Intel graphics chipsets.

Technically Personal explains that older intel chips are known to not support shading very well and that the XML file contains zero references to ATI Radeon chipsets.

Technically Personal adds that “this should almost confirm that Apple Maps is coming to iMacs & MacBooks. I cannot think of any other reason for Apple to have references to Intel chipsets in their Maps app.”
