Mac OS X Mountain Lion Hits Shelves In July For $19.99

Mac OS X Mountain Lion Is Apple’s 8th Major Release. The update will be available in July for $19.99 through the Mac App Store.

The Operating System will feature:

  • Air Play Mirroring — 1080p wireless screen sharing (must have Apple TV).
  • Game centre
  • NEW FEATURE: Power Nap — Keeps your Mac up to date while it sleeps.
  • Documents In The Cloud — a simple new way to access and organise documents. Pages documents looks a lot like the Pages iPad app.
  • Reminders (with multi-touch)
  • Messages bring iMessages to your Mac
  • Notification centre, featuring a switch to turn off notifications, and if you connect to a projector it gets disabled automatically.
  • Dictation — everywhere on your Mac where you can type, you can talk. “You can talk into Facebook if you want.” 
  • Sharing system wide. For example, any image you can quick look, for instance, can be sent to Flickr. Sharing works in full-screen apps, you can be in full screen iPhoto, then share direct to Messages without dropping focus in iPhoto.
  • Unified Smart Search bring searching right to the browser address bar.
  • iCloud Tabs — shows all the pages you have open across all devices. Brings a very iPad-like experience to the desktop when navigating the web.
  • Increased Chinese Language Support — including a new Chinese dictionary and a Chinese search engine.
