Apple may have a supply issue with its retina displays for the iPad 3 and might not be able to produce completed devices to match demand until Q2, reports DigiTimes. These new displays offer a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, where previous models pumped out images at 1024 x 769 pixels.
We can’t wait to see these displays in person, but it turns out that supply chain failings might require us to be a little more patient that previously anticipated.
With this delay in mind, we might see iPad 2s stay mainstream in shipments of completed products for a little while longer, with the iPad 3 taking over more fully in Q2.
