Apple Announces 'Cards,' A New App For Sending People Hard-Copy Greeting Cards

At its Fall event in Cupertino today, Apple announced “Cards,” a new free app to help you mail physical greeting cards to friends and family.It works a lot like the book-maker in iPhoto, and costs $2.99 per card.

When your cards arrive at their destination, you receive a push notification to alert you.

The app will debut alongside iOS 5 on October 12th.
