- Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua told British rival Tyson Fury to “get fit, you fat f***” in unusual Twitter outburst.
- Joshua also told a boxing journalist to “shut the f*** up.”
- The undefeated boxer could fight Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker, or Fury next in a 2018 super fight.
World heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua may have got up on the wrong side of the bed on Thursday.
Known for his “stay humble” mantra, Joshua let loose on Twitter as he put British rival Tyson Fury on blast before telling a boxing journalist to “shut the f*** up.”
Joshua and Fury have teased a 2018 showdown for months, but Joshua offered advice to the former unified heavyweight champion: “Get fit, you fat f***.”
As Joshua is not known for his trash-talk, or even unpleasant language. Boxing journalist Kugan Cassius, who founded YouTube channel iFL TV, asked whether the real Joshua was coming to the fore.
But Cassius also got short shrift:
Joshua, 28, recently retained his WBA, IBF, and IBO heavyweight titles when he stopped mandatory challenger Carlos Takam at the Principality Stadium in Wales on October 28.
His promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sports, is now negotiating his next super-fight according to Radio Rahim of Seconds Out.
Though WBC champion Deontay Wilder could be his next opponent, Joshua could also fight WBO champ Joseph Parker or the unbeaten Fury.
