The Anonymous hacking network has a new target — German Neo Nazis.Deutsche Welle reports that the new operation is nicknamed “Operation Blitzkrieg”, and sees the group attacking a number of websites linked with the National Democratic Party (NPD).
In addition, the group has launched a new site — http://nazi-leaks.net — which is publishing the names and contact details of people associated with the neo-nazi movement. Der Spiegel describes the names as “alleged donors to the far-right National Democratic Party (NPD), internal NPD emails, a contacts list from the right-wing weekly newspaper Junge Freiheit and customer data from neo-Nazi online stores”.
The Local reports that the group have already taken down 15 websites, though, as Der Spiegel notes, they’ve still got some way to go before they catch up with the “No Name Crew”, who took down 25 neo-Nazi sites in 2011.
