Rovio just announced that its golden egg mobile game Angry Birds just passed 500M game downloads worldwide, making it one of the most downloaded games in history.Angry Birds players amass 300 million minutes of playing time each day, Rovio added.

In stark comparison, Call Of Duty: Black Ops (the top selling game in the United States) has sold over 10 million copies. The original Super Mario Bros has sold over 40 million copies.

Rovio has launched its most popular game on nearly every single gaming platform for just $0.99, multiplying its success.
