A Russian historian has been taken into custody by police when it was discovered he had over 20 female corpses in his home, reports the Telegraph.Anatoly Moskvin, a local historian in the Russian town of Nizhny Novgorod, has said he was writing a book on the region’s graveyards and had visited over 750 of them. However, it now appears that he also engaged in digging up female corpses while he researched.
BNO reports that Moskvin was known as a “genius” in his town.
It is reported that all the corpses were women who had died between the ages of 15 and 25-years-old.
Newser reports that 26 bodies were found in all. The police had been alerted by Moskvin’s own parents who had visited their son and been dismayed when they found they were sharing a guest room with skeletons.
The 45-year-old historian is yet to be charged. This Russian site published some creepy photos of the corpses, seemingly dressed up in old clothing if you feel like having a look.
