While consumers embrace the online retail giant’s move into the local market, others are wary that Amazon will take over and ‘destroy’ local retailers.

Half of Australian shoppers are ready to hand over their money when Amazon arrives.

The US giant has an incredibly large range, and their plans for Australia may be bigger than first thought.

Among that wide range, Amazon has a super-cheap own-label electronic and office supplies line called AmazonBasics.

What we found was that the Amazon basics range was always cheaper than the Australian retailers products, who may need re-think their prices and retail strategies to avoid becoming one of the companies already crushed by Amazon.

Here’s a look at how the prices of 14 electronic accessories and must-have office supplies from Amazon and Australian retailers compare.

All prices are in Australian dollars.
