Amazon's first country manager for Australia is coming from Germany

The man who will head Amazon’s push into Australia is Rocco Braeuniger, currently director of consumables at Amazon Germany.

A spokesman for Amazon confirmed he will move to the role of country manager for Amazon.com.au in the “coming months”.

His LinkedIn profile shows he’s been with Amazon since 2006.

Amazon today announced it is opening of first Australian fulfilment centre in Dandenong South in Victoria, a 24,000 square facility at Pellicano’s M2 Industry Park with easy access to the South Gippsland Highway, Monash Highway and Eastlink.

“This new fulfilment centre will stock hundreds of thousands of products which will be available for delivery to customers across Australia when we launch our retail offering,” says Robert Bruce, Amazon’s director of operations for Australia.

“We will be focusing on offering our Australian customers low prices on a great selection of products and can’t wait to get started.”
