Amazon is slashing prices by up 80% for Prime Day sales

Bargains at Australia’s first Amazon Prime Day include discounts of up to 80%.

Prime Day was introduced in 2015 in the US as a one-day only sales event claiming more deals than Black Friday to celebrate Amazon’s 20th anniversary.

Now with Amazon launching its flagship membership program, Australians have for the first time access to sales via the local website,

A Prime subscription costs Australians $59 a year or $6.99 ($5.14) a month, with free delivery on millions of local and international items.
