Amazon’s Instant Video launched today with support for both streaming video and for watching it offlien, as first reported by 9to5Mac.This means that Amazon Prime subscribers can not only get free 2-day shipping for $80 per year, but they can also use the Instant Video app to download any content the buy or rent to their devices for offline viewing.

Regardless, it’s pretty cool. We have yet to see other major names in the space support this — Netflix, Hulu, etc.

iOS users should know that the app is only available on the iPad for now. There’s no iPhone version yet.

You can download the app for free right here.
