This week, Outlaw has identified three lucrative airline credit card deals for our subscribers. (Although I’m no longer as closely involved with the site, I still play an advisory role there.)
The first airline credit card on our radar is the Chase Sapphire Preferred Visa Signature card. Although technically a “hybrid” rewards credit card (you can redeem points for cash as well), there is a current limited time promotion where you can earn 50,000 Bonus Points, which is equivalent to $625 in airfare if you book via Chase’s Ultimate Rewards portal. More details on this offer here.
Among other benefits, Chase has great 24/7 live telephone support for Sapphire and Sapphire Preferred cardholders. You’ll get a real human being within a few rings; no phone menus or recorded messages.
The second airline credit card deal Outlaw featured this week is Southwest Airlines’ Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card. You’ll earn a free roundtrip flight (domestic; U.S.) after your first purchase on the card, plus 2 points on every $1 spent on Southwest Airlines purchases, and 1 point on each $1 spent everywhere else. I’d value the roundtrip flight at approximately $200.
To access this airline credit card deal, go to Outlaw‘s deal sorter and select “Miles/Points” cards. The card has a $69 annual fee.
Finally, a third popular option is United Airlines’ MileagePlus Explorer credit card. The $95 annual fee is waived the first year, and you can earn up to 40,000 Bonus Miles. More details here. I’d value the bonus miles at between $200 and $400, roughly.
Disclosures: We’re a credit card promotions site, so obviously we maintain financial relationships with numerous banks and financial institutions, including Citi, AmEx, Discover and other cards mentioned herein. This article originally appeared in slightly different form on Credit Card Outlaw.
