An aide of Russian prime minister and action man, Vladimir Putin, has admitted that a summer scuba stunt leading to the “discovery” of priceless Greek treasure was staged, reports the Moscow Times. The macho leader took part in a Black Sea scuba expedition in August, emerging from the water with two priceless ancient vases in his arms.
The aide, Dmitry Peskov, now questions the legitimacy of the archaeological find while also admitting he knew nothing of the prime minister’s bid to become elected president once again until Dmitry Medvedev made the public announcement.
Though Peskov claims the priceless Greek vases were placed in the water for Putin to find, a member of the scuba team has denied this, telling the BBC that no one was ordered to place the vases in the water and that the heroic leader found them himself.
