Adam Scott won the Bridgestone Invitational today, running away from the field on the back nine to win by four strokes.Carrying Scott’s clubs all weekend was Stevie Williams, who just two weeks earlier was fired by his partner of 12-years, Tiger Woods.
It’s Williams eighth win at the Firestone Country Club (7 with Tiger), so we guess he knows the course pretty well by now.
Woods finished the tournament at 1-over par, tied for 37th.
Scott shot 5-under in the final round to win the tournament at 17-under par, holding off challenges from playing partner Ryo Ishikawa, Rickie Fowler and others.
Adding insult to Woods’ injury: Williams said in a post-match interview that after 33 years of being a caddy, including 145 wins and 13 major championships (with Tiger) this was “the best week of his life” and “the best win I’ve ever had.”
