Maid's Lawyers Want The D.A To Step Down From DSK Case And Appoint A Special Prosecutor

Lawyers working for the maid that’s accused Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault, want the Manhattan D.A Cy Vance to step down from case, and appoint a special prosecutor, according to Reuters.

The maid’s lawyers are accusing Vance’s office of “leaking damaging information about her.”

“District Attorney Vance, we ask in earnest that your office voluntarily recuse itself from the Strauss-Kahn case and that you appoint a special prosecutor,” said a letter from Kenneth Thompson, one of the maid’s lawyers.

Earlier today prosecutors met with Strauss-Kahn’s lawyers and while the meeting was said to be constructive, the “process is ongoing and no decision has been made yet.”

Last week, after Strauss-Kahn was released on his own recognizance in light of serious credibility issues with the accuser, Thompson argued that Vance is scared to prosecute the case.
