ABC Called Thrillist Founder Ben Lerer And Asked If He Wanted To Be The Bachelor -- He's Married, So He Declined

Ben Lerer

ABC and its hit franchise The Bachelor are searching for the most eligible man in America to woo the hearts of 25 women.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to do much due diligence in its casting calls.

Ben Lerer, the cofounder of Thrillist and a partner at Lerer Ventures, received a call a few months ago from ABC. It was someone from The Bachelor, asking if he’d like to be considered as the show’s leading man.

Lerer, who is married, thought it was hilarious. He jokingly asked his wife’s permission.

She said no.

He never returned ABC’s call.
