A Missouri woman got a rude surprise when she called 911 after her Great Dane collapsed. The pet owner further upset paramedics by referring to Oreo as her “daughter” on the 911 call, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Thursday.

“It’s just a dog,” one exasperated paramedic said after arriving at the scene.

Rose Lakey had to pay a $100 fine in court Wednesday for calling rescue workers when Oreo the dog collapsed after a walk.

But Lakey never meant to imply she was actually calling about her daughter, she said.

“I honestly did not call trying to lie to them,” Lakey told the paper. “I think everyone has said something wrong in the heat of the moment.”

Oreo, who was more than six feet tall on her hind legs, didn’t survive the collapse, the paper said. Her ashes are in an urn, which Lakey and her husband sleep with.

A previously published version of this article misquoted Lakey. The error has been corrected.
