Fashion designer Tommy Hilifiger’s 2003 Ferrari Enzo is officially the most expensive car registered in Greenwich, CT.According to Forbes, the Enzo is being valued at $633,360, and Mr. Hilfiger pays nearly $6,300 a year in taxes on the vehicle.
Because Mr. Hilfiger makes his home in Greenwich, the Ferrari is registered there.
This means that Ralph Lauren, who also has a home in Greenwich, was not included on the ranking because he mainly lives and pays taxes in New York. His extravagant collection includes Bugattis and Ferraris worth well over $1 million.
New Yorker Jim Glickenhaus, another noted collector who keeps cars in the Greenwich area, has a number of significant Ferraris in his collection as well that are worth far more than Mr. Hilfiger’s Enzo.
It actually might behoove them to move their primary residency to Greenwich. Forbes reports that any car over 20 years old is automatically considered vintage. Cars considered antiques are automatically valued at $500, which is what the owner pays taxes on.
Sounds like collector car paradise.
