Apple’s Campus 2 development, currently under construction in Cupertino, California, is far from complete, but new drone footage shows how much progress has been made.
YouTube user Duncan Sinfield shot and edited the film, which includes an up-to-date overview of the spaceship shaped project, flashbacks to the previous month’s construction and narration by the late Apple founder Steve Jobs.
Sinfield says all site renderings and blueprints were obtained from public record. The drone footage was filmed in High Definition (HD) using a DJI Inspire 1 UAV.
Sobrato Development Company built the original Apple Campus, located less than 2km from the new site, in 1993. In April 2006, Steve Jobs announced that Apple had acquired nine neighbouring or adjoining properties to build the second campus.
It was originally expected to be completed in 2013 and open in 2015, however, the project suffered delays and only began in 2014, with expectations for a late 2016 or early 2017 open.
