The Chinese auto industry is growing by leaps and bounds. Many Western manufacturers are now establishing partnerships with Chinese automakers to start building cars in the nation. Chinese car makers are also becoming heavily involved with Western companies; Swedish automaker Volvo is now owned by Chinese company Geely.
Along with Volvo, Geely owns a majority stake in Magna Holdings, the company that builds the iconic London Taxi.
Our friends at Car News China were at the recent Beijing Auto Show and shared these pictures of this Englon TX4, the Chinese-built counterpart of the London Taxi.
While a normal model costs around $33,000, this particular TX4 commands a price of $46,000. Car News China reports that Geely is hoping to see some of these cars to have bespoke options that will drive the price near $50,000.
