According to a New York Times feature about Ryan Lochte, entitled “The Making of an Olympic Sex Symbol,” Lochte is a lazy bro who loves fashion.
When he’s not training, he says he’s pretty lazy, he even walks his dog while riding a scooter. And he dreams of being a fashion designer some day.
The four-time Olympic medalist (two gold, and two bronze in Beijing) admits he doesn’t want to be “stuck in the swimming world.” He says he hates talking about swimming when he’s away from the pool:
“I don’t just eat, swim, sleep — I don’t do that. There’s so much more to me than swimming.”
Lochte trains hard, and has medals to show it, but there’s more to him than just swimming, and he wants everyone to know that.
Also, NBC has referred to the swimmer as the 'face of the American team,' he already has ad deals with Gatorade, Gillette and Nissan, and he has a fitness DVD coming out.
Lochte was on the cover of Vogue alongside Hope Solo and Serena Williams, and was ranked as the number one best beach body in Men's Health.
Needless to say, Lochte's good looks give him just as much publicity as his athleticism in the pool.
Not surprisingly, he dreams of being a clothing designer when he's done swimming. He already designed this shoe line for Speedo
Grillz are one of his signature accessories, and don't worry he's planning to wear them at the Olympics this year too
