The High Court has just ruled Barnaby Joyce, Australia’s now former deputy prime minister was ineligible to stand for parliament at the 2016 election because he had New Zealand citizenship.
Joyce looks set to stand for election for his former seat of New England in a by-election likely to be held in December.
Twitter is already blowing up with comments about his ousting from parliament.
Here are 22 of the best as the drama unfolded.

Joyce’s words come back to bite him
Joyce: "You don't try to second guess the High Court"
Isn't that exactly what PM did when he stressed the High Court would find he's fine?— Bevan Shields (@BevanShields) October 27, 2017

For some it was revenge
I have no sympathy for #BarnabyJoyce. He’s insulted LGBTIQ people, advocated for the poor-treatment of animals, among many other things. pic.twitter.com/KjteZueTij

Some believed Johnny Depp and Amber Heard would cheer
Depp and Heard broke Australian biosecurity laws when they smuggled their two Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo into the country in 2015. They were slapped with a $1,000 fine, but Joyce then threatened to kill their dogs if they didn’t “bugger off back to the United States”. They’ve had a tense relationship since.
