Pyeongchang, South Korea, has been chosen as the host city for the 2018 Winter Olympics. This is South Korea’s first Olympics since Seoul hosted the Summer Games in 1988.
Pyeongchang (y before e!) had submitted bid for the previous two Winter Olympics that went to Vancouver and Sochi, Russia.
It’s the third largest city in South Korea, but promises one of the most compact Olympics ever with most of the facilities being built within a small radius.
