Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone says he will present a proposal next week that would a create a new state out of thirteen Southern California counties, CBS Los Angeles reports.
Stone announced his plan just one day after Gov. Jerry Brown’s signed California’s budget, which the supervisor claims will adversely affect Riverside and other counties.
He also has complaints about state policy on immigration, education, and the economy.
So far, Stone has yet to garner much support for his plan. Even his fellow Riverside County supervisor Bob Buster Stone’s called the idea a “crazy distraction.”
“The temperature has gone up in Riverside County and it seems Supervisor Stone has gotten too much sun recently,” Buster told CBS.
