Here Are The 12 Huge Bets Hedge Funds Are Making Right Now

Here’s where hedge funds are either buying or shorting different assets, in courtesy of Societe Generale’s Hedge Fund Watch dated September 29th.

It’s pretty clear they’re betting on money-printing, Japan, but not U.S. stocks.

They're long money printing (10-year government bonds)

Also long 30-year government bonds

They're short corporate America

For example, via the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY).

They're short American tech, but less so

For example, via the Powershares QQQ Nasdaq ETF (QQQQ)

And they're short the broad market

They're short volatility

Surprisingly, they're long Japan, as they've been for a while

For example, via the iShares Japan ETF (EWJ)

Long the yen has been a great and ongoing bet

Almost balanced for the euro and dollar

They're short the pound

Another great trade: They're long the Franc

They're long oil (which is looking good with crude near $82 again)

For example, via the United States Oil Fund ETF (USO).

And of course they love gold.

For example, via the SPDR Gold Trust ETF (GLD).
