The Beverly Hills Hotel, aka “The Pink Lady,” is officially 100 years old, and the movie-star magnet is also an official landmark. Here are some snapshots from “The Pink Lady’s” history, featuring cameos from Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and other famous faces from nearby Hollywood.

The Pink Palace changed owners three times over the course of the 1980s, and in the early '90s, the hotel had a facelift, complete with a fresh coat of salmon paint. Architect Paul R. Williams gave the hotel a pink-and-green palette in the 1940s.

Here's how the Beverly Hills Hotel (and a nearby swath of Beverly Hills itself) looked from above in 1921.

Double the drama: Iconic actress Audrey Hepburn pauses by a mirror inside the hotel in this photo taken in 1954.

This glamourous scene in the hotel's entryway was staged for a Cadillac print advertisement in 1957.

This photo shows a vintage car owned by the daughter of Margaret Anderson, the hotel's original proprietress, who built the Beverly Hills Hotel for $500,000 in 1912.

In its early days, guests and their horses took a bridle path from the hotel to surrounding grounds for morning rides.

Throughout its history, the Beverly Hills Hotel has been famous for its celebrity clientele. Rita Hayworth gets a leg up in this image from the 1940s.

Recent restorations targeting the hotel's anniversary included two new Presidential Bungalows (complete with their own swimming pools) and a new lobby designed by Adam Tihany – but its signature exterior colour remains rosy.
