Bob Zoellick's Gold Idea Looks Sillier By The Day

Last week, World Bank chief Bob Zoellick suggested that we should use gold, somehow, as a benchmark to see which countries were taking currency stability either.

Since then, gold has collapsed some $100/oz, and the way it’s moved suggests that it basically moves like stocks, but leveraged.

So what makes gold such a solid measure?
