The Australian Electoral Commission has just released financial disclosures for the 2014-15 year.

The figures show Clive Palmer’s Queensland Nickel, which went into administration last month, was the biggest financial donor to the Palmer United Party, handing $5,991,381 to the MP’s party.

And the next biggest donor was Mineralogy, another Clive Palmer company, which donated 3,628,346.

Palmer’s Coolum resort also made a donation of 191,113. Palmer made a personal donation to his party of $2000.

Queensland Nickel, like many resources companies, has been squeezed by the collapses in commodity prices on global markets in recent years. It made 237 workers redundant last month.
