Cate Blanchett has sold her Sydney home for $20 million

Australian actress Cate Blanchett and her playwright husband Andrew Upton have sold their family home in Hunters Hill for around $20 million.

The Bulwarra property is perched on 3642 square metres of prized waterfront land in one of Sydney’s most prestigious suburbs.

Buyer’s agent Deborah West, of SydneySlice, confirmed the property had sold, but would not reveal the exact sale price or buyer details.

Domain reports the couple bought the property in 2005 for $10 million from merchant banker Jim Dominguez. After an $8 million revamp, the property is now expected to fetch a record sale price for the lower north shore area. The current record is $12.85 million, set in May.

Here’s a look at the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home courtesy of Domain.com.au

The family sold their home as they prepare to move to the United States at the end of the year.

The home was originally built in 1877 as 'Erigola', and was later owned by chairman of Arnotts Biscuits company Halse Rogers Arnott...

But the current design and architecture was designed by Nadine Alwill and Dr Stephen Lesiuk.

Other features include a guest powder and cloakroom, solid American Oak floors, custom joinery...

An enormous cellar, generous attic storage, and secure parking for four cars.

On the exterior of the house is a pool pavilion, championship tennis court, trampoline platform, guesthouse and direct river access.

But the most defining feature is the magnificent views of the impressive Australian landscape.
